Founded as a part-time machining business in the basement of a house in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio, National Machine was officially incorporated in April 1967. Headquartered in Stow, Ohio, ownership has grown National Machine Group® to be a proud industry leader in product design, manufacture and value-added services for Tier-1 Aerospace, Defense & Industrial Markets.
Since its founding in 1967, National Machine has enjoyed steady growth; from 1977 to 1982 company sales doubled for the first time. They then doubled again by 1988, and later in 2004 as well. Ownership is proud of the consistent growth of the company, as well as the integrity, commitment and experience showcased in the over 350 highly skilled associates that help to make us a success. The owners take pride in having created an environment that fosters employee loyalty. They have established a unique culture that inspires excellence at all levels of operations.
National Machine Group® services three major market segments: 1) Commercial Aircraft, 2) Industrial and 3) Military/Defense. Commercial aircraft engineering, manufacturing, and support for Tier 1 aerospace clients composes the majority of NMG sales. National Machine and National Aviation manufacture evacuation slide hardware, propeller and wing de-icers, brake disks, heated drains & water tanks, and 737 landing gear. Our industrial subdivision, located in Stow, Ohio, engineers and manufactures specialty tools including Matco® sockets, Matco® air tools, Danley Die® tappers and truck transmission shift forks. National Machine’s Military and Defense production cells supply the US Air Force and US Army with helicopter wheel & brake assemblies, C-130 wheels, C-17 torque arms and other aircraft components and accessories.
